POWER is playing a leading role in pulling other low-income people's organizations together. We understand that by collaborating with and supporting other organizations, we can improve our own work and we can help to deepen the impact of low-income people creating exits from poverty.

LOCAL · POWER works closely with St. Peter's Housing Committee, the San Francisco Day Laborers' Program, the Coalition on Homelessness, the Chinese progressive Association. Last year, we led these groups through a six-week study session for our members regarding the War on Terrorism and how it affects low-income people in San Francisco. These trainings lead to a formation which help a May Day rally calling for Peace, Work and Housing.

NATIONAL · POWER participates in several national networks including the Grassroots Global Justice (GGJ), a national network of grassroots, membership based community organizations. We are playing a leading role, along with the Miami Workers' Center and the Tenants and Workers Support Committee (based in Alexandria, VA) in convening a national network of worker center organizations. We are currently outreaching to other organizations across the country, and plan to launch this network in the Spring of 2004.

INTERNATIONAL · After sending members and staff to the U.N. Conference Against Racism and to the World Social Forum, POWER has made a commitment to making stronger international linkages in our work. Currently, we are talking with poor people's organizations in South Africa and Brazil about conducting exchanges in the coming year. We are also members of ENLACE, an international alliance of workers movements, labor unions, and community organizations.
